A Guide to New and Established Specialty Coffee Shops and Roasters in Athens

Highly recommended, Kain provides an exceptional experience with its unique atmosphere and decor. Kain, located in Anapafseos str., is a nostalgic establishment that offers a range of classic drinks throughout the day. We opted to do the only right thing stocking up on breakfast goodies as well as snacks for the day to keep us going.

Workers were kind but a bit slow, although they were a bit busy on the day so I can’t blame them. I enjoy visiting this cute, little, French themed café especially during winter time. The cafe has a vintage feel with great vinyl music and delicious fruit salads. Really good atmosphere, music & unique lay out. The place was quite busy so it was not easy to find a good table, we had to wait.

Comes with indoor and heated outdoor space, serves great food and wine to match, has reasonable prices, and is good for any time of the day. An all-day cafe with some super tasty comfort food. Landed over there on a Sunday morning and just wanted to try out some wines on the glass . We're trying to go top 5 breakfast places from Foursquare. I was pleasantly surprised from all the flavors and quality of ingredients – everything fresh, just so so so tasty. Excellent coffee and good music choices keep this place in business for so many years

  • We selected a table on the balcony upstairs with a lovely view.
  • A tiny bit extremely cute spot with great coffee and good service!
  • I loved taking a break here, because it is situated on a nice narrow street and there is lots to see while sipping on your coffee.

Visitors' reviews on Samba Coffee Roasters The Shop

It truly feels like being inside a movie scene. One of the coolest places we’ve ever visited — not only in Athens, but in all of Europe. It’s a perfect place to cool down and relax, even in November (still feels hot to us Brits!).

We prefer to spend our money at venues that show more respect for global events and the feelings of their international visitors. It is very disappointing that a "cultural center" in 2026 chooses to display a giant sign of a Russian state-owned company (Aeroflot). We had a good time and I will definitely recommend ! coffee roastery We were there on a Sunday evening but there were quite some people.

So you’re all set to use the beans to make coffee at home in the time-honoured way. As well as serving fantastic coffee, Carpo has lots of lovely gift chocolates, honey and nuts. They have quite a bit of seating outside, too, and it’s always busy. However, you might find some of these feel a bit “locals only, please”, so here are some specific places you can try. This pleasant café is situated in a beautiful Art Deco corner building with a unique indoor terrace/patio.

We really enjoyed ourselves in a hot summer afternoon. I didn’t have anything to drink during my visit, but there are about four tables where you can sit and enjoy a very calm and peaceful atmosphere. I chose the medium-sized box for €15, which made a lovely gift. Each praline was beautifully crafted and tasted very nice — with some surprising flavors like rosemary and basil. I visited because I wanted to buy pralines as a gift. A rich, decadent hot chocolate for people who like more chocolate than milk.

Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in around the plaka and want to escape the busyness. Perfect place for work or just chill, the vibe is good and the place is really beautiful. If only every cafe had such good people working there. They offer soft drinks, pastries, and of course various types of coffee prepared by a skilled and hard-working barista. Loving the industrial interior and very cute/clean pink bathroom in the basement. A short walk from our apartment so we've visited twice.
